Have you always wanted to be on the radio? Do
you love music, and wish to share your tastes with
the world? Do you have strong feelings about
certain topics and issues, and wish to make your
views known to a large audience?

With Geneva Community Radio, you can do all of
this, and a whole lot more.

GCR is always looking for volunteer program
producers and hosts. No prior radio experience
is needed. You can produce
your show yourself from the comfort of your own
home using free software that can be downloaded
from the internet. If you are a local resident of
Geneva, NY and surrounding areas, you can also
make use of our radio production studio in the
Geneva Community Center.

GCR is open to everyone regardless of race,
gender, sexual orientation, political or religious
affiliation.

To have a show on Geneva Community Radio,
you must be at least 18 years of age. Persons
under 18 wishing to have theirown show may do
so with the approval of a parent or legal guardian.

Because this is a community radio station based
in the New York's Finger Lakes region, locally
produced programs will have priority. When the
slots we have designated exclusively for
locally produced programs have been filled, it is
possible that non-local/syndicated programs will
need to be dropped from the schedule to
accommodate new locally produced programming.
We encourage new shows to be either 30 or 60
minutes in length. Exceptions may be made at
the discretion of GCR management.

As a programmer, you are responsible for the
content of yourshow. It is up to you to correct any
errors within your show, and to ensure that your
program flows as smoothly as possible. We
are always here to help if you are having production
issues. Don't hesitate to contact us for assistance.

Even though GCR is a web based radio station at
the moment, our ultimate goal is to broadcast on
the local FM dial. Because ofthis, GCR requires
its programs to adhere to the FCC's rules and
regulations regarding the broadcasting of indecent
and/or obscene content. It is your obligation to
ensure that the content of your show meets those
guidelines. If you have a question about something
you want to broadcast within your program, please
ask GCR management, and never assume. This
will ensure that bothyou and the radio station stay
out of trouble!

Geneva Community Radio management reserves
the right to cancel any program it deems
inappropriate, or to be in violation of station
policies. Any programmer whose show is to be
cancelled shall be given notification in writing of
the intent to terminate their program.

Shows must be delivered to Geneva Community
Radio in a timely manner. Failure to do so may
result in the cancellation of your program.

Geneva Community Radio has a zero tolerance
policy towardhate speech. This includes, but is
not limited to, personal attacks/slander, and racist
or sexist remarks. Any programcontaining the
above material will be terminated immediately, and
the program producer will be permanently banned
from the station.

As stated above, this radio station is open to
EVERYONE. There are many different voices
heard on GCR, each with their own unique
perspective. You may not care for some of these
perspectives, but, this radio station does not exist
just to serve you. If you do not believe that diversity
has a place on the public airwaves, then please
don't waste your time, or ours.

Thank you!
